"Team NZ, including skipper Dean Barker and grinder Grant Dalton, were welcomed into the ceremony with a powhiri, haka and huge applause from the crowd."

"Both told ONE News they were surprised by the turnout and strength of their support."

"It means a huge amount for this team. We put absolutely everything into it and you know, to not be successful is what really hurts the most," said Barker.

"I just want to say, today is the proudest I've ever been to be a New Zealander."

"It's the most important thing for me personally and I know for Grant and everyone else. I dearly would love to skipper the next Team New Zealand boat, but again it's not my decision." (Barker)

Dalton said he was humbled.
"People wanna stay with this team, this is unique."

"In a speech at the ceremony, Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce said he had a special message to deliver to the team and crowd.
" "This government and this country stands ready to be part of the next America's Cup challenge." "
(But we still need to act fast in order to secure and not lose pivotal members of Team NZ; don't let Team NZ or the wider team (the whole of NZ @ home or abroad) down!!).
"Auckland Mayor Len Brown said the whole of New Zealand woke up early to watch the racing.

" "We were with you on every tack, we were with you on every jibe, we have all become experts on foiling, and we all hated that minute when they cancelled that race early,"
Mr Brown said.
" "You united us, you represented us superbly with skill honour and integrity."
Hundreds turned out to watch the ceremony at Queen's Wharf and The Cloud."
